The use of special and sometimes unusual case materials is part of the programme at Sinn Spezialuhren. The use of titanium for case manufacture was introduced at SINN back in the 1980s. This was followed shortly afterwards by a particularly robust 22-carat gold alloy. The timeline of case materials shown below impressively illustrates how new materials were regularly developed and utilised. The endeavours always began with a specific requirement profile for the material in question, not just the search for another unique selling point. Our love of metallurgy and the use of special materials sometimes goes so far that we place metallurgical solitaires, such as the propeller of the U 15, a 206-class submarine, weighing approx. 1.1 tonnes and made of ship's bronze, in the car park of our headquarters as a showpiece.
